Green Gables | Root

In 2016 Root Architecture were selected to design a new Visitor Centre at the Internationally acclaimed site of Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place located in Cavendish, Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Green Gables Heritage Place is a place of imagination and reality, where historical fact and fiction meet. The project brings together the story of Lucy Maud Montgomery, the author, and Anne, the famous character who has touched people from around the world for many generations.

The addition is on the north side of a re-built barn structure and in phase three it will become a country kitchen opening outwards to an exterior courtyard where local music and food, and of course raspberry cordial, will be enjoyed.
